It’s My Birthday & I’ll Post Russell Crowe Naked If I Want To

I turn 32-years-young on April 10th, Horse Nation. I think I’ll celebrate with Russell Crowe naked on a horse.

The film: Hammers Over the Anvil (1993)

The plot: “This is the story of the crippled young Alan Marshall and his hero worship of the local he-man horse trainer East Driscoll, the schoolboy crush Alan has on the local aristocratic English beauty Grace McAlister and the affair that young Alan witnesses developing between Grace and East. Things inevitably take a turn towards the tragic when East becomes determined to force Grace to leave her husband and run away with him.” ~ IMDb

Let’s break down the opening sequence.

Russell Crowe bursts from the water like some sort of Australian water god.

The horse on shore is freaking out, spooked by the man’s pure hotness.

Then he slip and slides across the horses’ backs…

and completes the most awesome, albeit awkward, mount ever.

Then he and his horses frolic in the water.  Some weird kid is watching, but I’m sure that could be taken out of context … so we won’t go there.

Eventually he rides bareback off into the sunset with his herd galloping beside him.
