Delilah — Oregon
“16-year-old, 15.2hh Thoroughbred mare. We are not sure of her past training but if she finds an adopter her training has been donated by a great trainer in Salem, Oregon. She is up to date on everything. She came in with huge trust issues but has come a long way in her time here. She is sound and beautiful. Registered.”
Opal — Virginia
“Breed: Appaloosa
Height: 15 hands
Age: 15
Suitable for: Companion
Limitations: Untrained for saddle
Status:Available
Adoption Fee: No Fee
Story: Pearl came to us from a NC seizure of 27 animals. Of the 27, 8 came to CVHR. She is a sweet girl who was shown at halter in her younger years. She has great ground manners and loves attention. She shows some diminished vision at night.”
JR — Ohio
“Smokrs Lil Playboy a.k.a. JR is a 17 year-old APAH Stallion (will be gelded or leave with gelding contract). He is 15.2 hands and did have some professional training but has not been worked in a few years. He can be pushy and nippy. He does crib and requires a cribbing collar, he does well with farrier and vet. If interested in fostering JR or Adopting contact Voice For Horses Rescue Network located in Toledo, Ohio. FREE to APPROVED HOME.”
Sable — California
“From the Fallon Feedlot in Nevada she has come a very long way trusting. She cannot believe people can be so kind. We are letting her warm up on her own time, and she is responding beautifully. I have trimmed her mane, and next will be her tail. She lets me stroke her neck, ears, withers and body. All this new in the last three weeks. Sable is a beautiful mare. I am guessing Friesian and Paint. She is long-backed and the abundance of hair suggest Friesian. White markings indicate paint. She is available for adoption to a person experienced in gentling and working with horses exhibiting trust issues. Because she arrived in a halter and lead nicely, I feel she has been taught a lot, perhaps even ridden under saddle. But we haven’t arrived at that point in the relationship to be able to evaluate these things. She is healthy and sound. I believe her to be in her late teens, early 20s. Sable needs a person of her own to bring her healing along. She would flourish with lots of daily attention. Adoption fee waived to the perfect fit.”
Daisy — New York
“Daisy is a 15 hh, 5-year-old Irish Sport Horse bay mare with a blaze. Sturdy built and would make a great pleasure, gaming or 4-H horse. Daisy is ‘serviceable
sound’ as she works out of it. She will come out of her stall slightly stiff and lame but usually works out of it and is always willing to do her job. Has jumped 3-foot courses with a lead change.”
