Live from Live Oak International: Drivers, Start Your Engines
World-class combined driving is center stage this week at Live Oak International, taking place March 18-22 in Ocala, Florida. Lisa Lach arrives on the scene of this larger-than-life competition.
Hello from Ocala, Florida, where Live Oak International is about to kick off. The show combines FEI Combined Driving and CSI** show jumping, so it promises to be an epic weekend of competition (you can check out the complete schedule here).
After arriving in Ocala, we got our bearings at the venue, which is very impressive, with huge rolling green pastures dotted with the live oaks for which it was named. The dressage arena is enormous…
…and there are a number of marathon hazards clustered near enough to one another that we should be able to see a lot of the action at several of them at once.
The competition runs March 18-22, beginning with FEI Driven Dressage. With the likes of Chester Weber and Misdee Wrigley Miller competing, it’s sure to be pretty epic.
No matter where you are in the world, it’s easy to keep up with the action in Ocala. Once again this year, USEF Network will be live streaming the events on Saturday and Sunday — see the broadcast schedule here. Footage from the marathon portion of last year’s event:
Shoutout to Glenn and Jennifer of Horse Radio Network for graciously playing host to us this week and giving us the grand tour of Ocala!
