It’s ‘Far From Over’ For This Gutsy Racehorse
Horses are always showing us what they’re made of. You won’t want to miss this race at Aqueduct, where this horse definitely lives up to his name!
Race 8 at Aqueduct Saturday was the Withers Stakes, a Grade III stakes race for 3-year-olds where some Derby hopefuls will stop along their path. Previous winners of this race include Scrappy T and Bernardini, and a fresh group of young horses entered the gates to try to become the next winner yesterday.
Far From Over is a 3-year-old colt by Blame out of Alchemist, by AP Indy. The Withers Stakes was just his second race, having just broken his maiden on the first attempt in December, also at Aqueduct. Trained by Todd Pletcher and owned by Black Rock Thoroughbreds, LLP, this guy may have just stamped his ticket to more Derby trail races with this performance. Trust me, you won’t want to miss it (you must be logged into Facebook to view the video):
How about that race, huh?
Stumbling at the start is no rare occurrence, and many times the horses that stumble may get written off as a potential winner. Not Far From Over — how appropriate is that name right now? Needless to say, we’re going to be keeping our eye on this one as the Derby trail heats up in earnest.
Go Riding.
