Horsenista’s Christmas List, Part II: 10 Gift Ideas for the Horse Lover Who Has (Almost) Everything
Christmas is neigh, er, nigh! It’s time to start making those lists and checking them twice. Here are a few things HN’s equestrian lifestyle editor Horsenista would like to find under the tree.
1. Ri-Dry Coats
These are by far the most stylish fully waterproof rain jackets I’ve come across. Notice I said “waterproof” not “water resistant.” There’s a big difference, folks. I love that the back of the coat is specifically tailored to cover your whole bum and the saddle with a large flair, but still gusseted at the waist. The jackets are worn by fox hunters in England, so you know they’re tough.
2. Bling for the Ring Wellington Braid Bands
Bling in the ring is no longer restricted to AQHA Western Pleasure. These crystal bands are a great way to add a little flash to your ride without “overdoing it.” Available in custom colors — Team USA Olympic dressage horse Rafalca was spotted rocking them in red, white and blue.
3. Rolltack
I spotted this on Twitter not long ago and thought it was really clever. The manufacturer’s website describes it as “a multi-purpose saddle trolley with a built in mounting block and wet/dry compartment.” It comes in a rainbow of colors to suit every personality.
4. C4 Belts
I love these fully customizable belts. I personally rock lime green with a royal blue buckle, but I’ve been eyeing that rainbow. The company also gives back 10% of every online purchase to charity.
5. Personalized Whips & Crops by Signature Spurs
This company sells whips and crops for several disciplines, all of which can be laser engraved with up to three initials.
6. Hunks and Horses 2015 Calendar
Because … well… I need to stay organized. Yeah, that’s it… organized.
7. Annabel Brocks Head Warmer
Charlotte Dujardin wears these head warmers. ‘Nuff said.
8. Dubarry Boots
Let’s face it, Dubarry is the Jimmy Choo shoes of the equestrian world. The fact that they are weather proof, super durable and comfy is a huge bonus. I also love the Dubarry liners for a little faux fur pizazz. Secret Tip: Match your Dubarry liners with your Annabel Brocks head warmer!
9. Horseware’s Fluffy Softie
You guys, this one top has two of my favorite words in the English language in it’s title… Fluffy and Softie. I just want to curl up in it forever. I also love their Sherpa Fleece Lined Hoodies.
10. Equestrian Jewelry
These two examples are by County Equestrian Jewellers in the UK, but the options are endless.
