SpectraVet Performance of the Week: Natasha Baker in Para-Dressage
Will Grade II para-dressage rider Natasha Baker lead team Great Britain to gold again?
Yesterday 24-year-old para-dressage rider Natasha Baker and her Polish Warmblood Cabral trounced the competition with a score of 73.647%, bringing Great Britain to the lead.
“With the success we’ve had on team GB since 1996, when we’ve been unbeaten in World, European and Paralympics, it is a lot of pressure!” she said.
Natasha has had Transverse Myelitis, a neurological disorder caused by inflammation across both sides of one level or segment of the spine since she was 14 months old, but has ridden her whole life. And as a double Paralympic and European gold medalist, Natasha is no stranger to the international stage.
“I went in for a really safe test and pulled it out the bag!” she said–all smiles after a winning performance. Watch the FEI interview and clips from the ride here:
