Disturbing New FEI ‘Horsify Me’ App Will Give You Nightmares
Have you ever wondered what you would look like as a horse? Of course you haven’t, BECAUSE IT’S TERRIFYING.
“Horsify Me,” the FEI’s new app that turns “selfies” into “horsies,” was released last week for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch and can be downloaded from the Apple Store.
From the FEI website:
The brand new FEI Horsify Me App, launched especially for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy, is brought to you by the FEI as a fun take on the idea that our horses are part of us. Take a photo of yourself, choose a horse face and ‘horsify’ yourself! There are 10 different horse faces to choose from so you can switch from selfies to horsies again and again.”
Sounds intriguing in theory, right? Let’s give it a try!
So first, you take a selfie — here’s mine:
And then you move the little “morph editor” tabs over your facial features:
Then you choose a horse…
And then, boom… “horsify!”
That’s… messed up.
At first I just assumed that I’d done the “morph editor” wrong, or maybe the app doesn’t understand what to do with huge dorky eyeglasses. I tried it again with another photo and a different horse.
Still creepy.
Even creepier.
I tried a couple more, just to be sure the Picasso-meets-[insert Sarah Jessica Parker joke here] Photoshop nightmare was real.
What has been seen can never be unseen. Thanks a lot, FEI.
Go Riding.
