20 Ridiculously Inept Things Said By Real-life Horse Owners
Karlie Mitchell and Leslie Wylie chip in a sampling of the dumbest comments they’ve ever heard come out of the mouths of people who shouldn’t own horses, but do.
Karlie explains, “Sorry to pick on our own, but really I’ve heard enough uneducated nonsense to be able to compile a list of stupid things I’ve heard from people who need some horsey education.”
Leslie adds, “There really ought to be some sort of test people have to pass before they are allowed to own a horse.”
Bonus: All photos are taken directly from Horse Nation’s “Best of Craigslist” archives, which means actual horse-owners posted them in ads online. Just chew on that for a moment.

“I pulled my horse out of the pen after a year off and took her for a good hard gallop in the field to get her back in shape.” –Overheard by Karlie

“They said she’s beginner safe as long as she has been ran hard to tire her out.” –Overheard by Karlie

“Stallions don’t lift their hooves because that would mean surrendering their weapons.” –Overheard by Karlie
And, last but not least…

“A stud won’t mount his sister if I put them in the pen together right? They know?” –Overheard by Karlie
(OK, this photo doesn’t quite fit the caption but we found this photo on Craigslist and just had to work it in somehow.)
Face-palm now if you haven’t already.
