Do You Wanna Ride Malin’s Horse?
Several national equestrian team members have laid claim to Olympic medals. But one among them has a Gold Disc.
Swedish show jumper Malin Baryard Johnsson shot to equestrian fame when she was named to the 1996 Olympic team at just 21 years of age. She was part of the Silver Medal winning teams at the 2002 FEI World Equestrian Games AND the 2004 Athens Olympics. And in 2003 she broke the Top 10 of the FEI World Rankings.
Naturally, her next step was to record a single? About riding. Baryard Johnsson’s kitsch classic “Do You Wanna Ride” is to show jumping what RuPaul’s “Cover Girl” is to Drag. Pure, unadulterated, awesome sauce. With a generous helping of ridiculousness.
For the record: I do want to ride your horse, Malin. (The grey one, if you don’t mind.)
Go riding!
