SpectraVET Performance of the Week: FTI Consulting Great Charity Challenge
Every single fence these showjumpers cleared last weekend helped abused, abandoned and neglected kids.
For the past five years, the FTI Consulting Great Charity Challenge Presented By Fidelity Investments pits mixed teams of professional, amateur and junior riders in a jumper relay to distribute money to local Florida non profits during the annual FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival. Throughout the event TWO MILLION BUCKS went to Florida charities – now that’s a noteworthy performance.
Team Speak Up For Kids beat out 34 other teams, each paired with a randomly selected charity, reports the USEF. Canadian ten-time Olympian Ian Millar captained the team, which included Kelly Soleau and Emily Klinch. Watch them jump fast and clear for $150,000 for the Speak Up For Kids Program, a state effort that looks after kids caught up in court cases. The program’s made up mostly of hard-working volunteers.
