SpectraVET Performance of the Week: Andrew Nicholson and Quimbo
When the USEF Network counted down its most-watched videos of 2013 last week, this Rolex cross-country run topped the list.
To recap (we’ve slept since then!), the New Zealand eventer stepped into the lead after a textbook cross-country round on the 10-year-old Spanish Sport Horse gelding Quimbo.
“He felt very, very good. I was very, very impressed with him,” said Nicholson of Quimbo in a Rolex press release. “It’s his first time at this level so I quite wasn’t sure if he would have enough gallop to keep up the pace to the end. I was quite amazed when I got to eight minutes and told him we needed to up the pace a little bit and he was very happy to do it and he wasn’t slowing down at the finish.”
They jumped clear on Sunday to clinch the win.
With 41,079 views, this video was not only the most popular USEF Network YouTube video of 2013, but the most popular USEF Network YouTube video of all time! (Check out the rest of the “Best of 2013” list here.)
