How NOT to trailer a horse

When a video of some idiot hauling their horse on the back of a flatbed truck appeared on EN over the weekend, I thought it’d be a good time to review some basic trailering guidelines.

Here is the original video from EN, filmed by Lisa Downs, widely circulated on Facebook and sent our way by appalled reader Marjean McIntyre:

Wow, what a terrible idea. Other bad ideas include trailing your horse in:

…The bed of your truck

…the backseat of your car

… and the trunk of your car

(…Unless your horse is really small, in which case–hey! it’s your car that’s getting pooped in, you can do whatever you want.)

Go horse trailers. They exist for a reason.
