SpectraVET Classic Performance of the Week: Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum & Shutterfly
This week we shine the spotlight on this champion show jumper’s emotional farewell performance in 2011.
At age 18, Shutterfly had nothing left to prove. Over the course of his career, which began with Michaels-Beerbaum at age 6, the Hanoverian gelding won countless Grand Prix classes including three World Cup Finals in 2005, 2008 and 2009 (making Michaels-Beerbaum the only woman to have done so) and an individual bronze medal at the 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games.
Shutterfly was retired from international competition at the CHIO Aachen after winning the “Preis von Europa” on July 13, 2011.
This is the video of that last class with their first round, the jump-off, and a touching send-off before an appreciative crowd of 40,000 spectators.
