SpectraVET Classic Performance of the Week
Each week we spotlight a history-making moment by an equine legend–like Huaso’s amazing 8’1″ leap in 1949, which still stands as the world record.
The feat was completed on February 5, 1949 in Viña del Mar, Chile. Captain Alberto Larraguibel, a Chilean army officer, trained his thoroughbred stallion Huaso for over two years toward his goal of procuring the title.
A new video lends fascinating insight into the Captain’s training process as well as offering footage of the record-setting jump.
