News: Horse riding is India’s latest ‘fitness craze’
According to an article in The Times of India, in Visakhapatnam “horse-riding is now galloping ahead as the latest fad among the city’s fitness freaks.”
One riding student quoted in the article explained, “We all joined the club because it would be a good workout. Unlike gymming and swimming, horse-riding is an offbeat exercise. There’s no monotony as every riding class is a new experience. We also find it relaxing and a stress buster.”
The center of the action is Vizag’s sole horse riding club and training center for civilians, a facility called Bay Front Horse Club near Sagar Nagar. (Top photo from Bay Front Horse Club’s Facebook page.)
Here’s a video we found of a lesson at the Club–careening around wildly is part of the curriculum, perhaps?
And here’s a video of “Abbas, the coach in Vizag for horse riding, showing the way the horse moves in canter. He is training many people to perfection in horse riding at Vizag.”
Oh dear.
