Friday Morning Feed from Ovation
Hey-hey, Horse Nation, it’s Friday! I’m soooooo ready–are you?
I hate to say it, but I’m just ready for the Olympics to wrap up as well. I love the Olympics, but like potato chips, I can never consume them in moderation. Diving, swimming, track, soccer, gymnastics… I’m obsessed with it ALL. For two weeks every four years, the Olympics take over my life.
As we move away from these Games, there’s always a lot of discussion. What were our strengths? What were our weakness? How can be better in the future?
We’re laying the groundwork for the future today. The kids who are competing at Pony Finals at the Kentucky Horse Park this weekend? There’s probably a future Olympic show jumper or two among them. Giving our youth the best riding and horsemanship foundations possible is the first step toward ensuring U.S. success on the international stage in years to come.
Ovation is a proud sponsor of Dressage4Kids, an organization dedicated to providing educational and competitive opportunities for youth riders and the adults who support them. It was founded by Olympian Lendon Gray to instill within our youth an appreciation for and dedication to the sport of dressage. Its flagship event, Lendon’s Youth Dressage Festival, takes place annually–the 2012 event just wrapped up over the weekend at the Hits on the Hudson Show Grounds in Saugerties, New York.
Horse Nation applauds Ovation’s support of Dressage4Kids. It’s just one of many ways that Ovation has revealed its investment in the equestrian community that we’re all a part of.
Go Ovation, and Go Riding!
