Tuesday Morning Feed from Dubarry
Good morning Horse Nation! Wherever you are, may your snooze button be gentle, your coffee warm and your commute stress-free.
Getting dressed this morning, I was thinking about equestrian brands that have crossover appeal for the non-horsey crowd as well. It seems like Danskos, for instance, hit the equestrian market first before making a successful mainstream debut. According to the Dansko website, founders Mandy Cabot and Peter Kjellerup discovered the first Dansko shoe while on a horse buying trip to Denmark. “They were searching for horses but found a clog instead,” the website explains. In 1990 Dansko was incorporated, and the phenomenon began. Now, in addition to clogs, the company makes shoes, boots, heels and sandals. (In the summertime, pretty much whenever I’m not on a horse, I’m wearing my Dansko sandals.)
Like Dansko, Dubarry‘s secret is out. Their signature boots have caught on with boot-lovers everywhere, and their clothing line includes stylish apparel that would feel just as at home on a sailboat as as it would ringside at a horse show. A few of my favorite summer off-the-horse items:
Adorable, right? My Dubarry wishlist just grows longer by the minute.
Thanks for supporting Horse Nation, Dubarry, and go riding!
