Tuesday Morning Feed from Dubarry

Good morning Horse Nation! Wakey-wakey. On the bright side, today should feel like a Friday for many of you with the 4th of July tomorrow.

The 4th is one of my favorite holidays. My husband and our friends and I get real festive about the whole thing: We put the 1812 Overture on the boombox and set fireworks off illegally within city limits and this year we’re blowing up a watermelon as the grand finale–everybody is super excited about that. The 4th never ceases to make me grateful that I live in a town full of rednecks.

Another summer tradition I enjoy immensely is going to music festivals. You may not realize this about me, but I’m kind of a hippie. Coachella, Phish fests, Pitchfork, Bonnaroo… I love ’em all. In fact, if I wasn’t into horses, I suspect that I would be on tour with Phish, peddling grilled cheese sandwiches to hungry stoners out of the back of a VW van.
