42 years ago today, a large-hearted, copper-coated son of Bold Ruler was born on the Chenery family’s Meadow Farm. 39 years after his Triple Crown-clinching victory in the Belmont Stakes, footage of the race is still as awe-inspiring and chill-inducing as it ever was.
