Morning Feed: Thurs, March 1

Welcome to March! It’s hard to believe that Horse Nation is officially one month old.  I think we’re doing OK for a baby website: In the span of 29 days, we’ve gone from zero to having a fantastic team of writers, an enthusiastic following, some amazing sponsors (we’ll be introducing you to one more today!) and–I mean, let’s face it–we have a photo of Jimmy Wofford holding up a “I heart HN” sign at the top of our page. We couldn’t ask for much more.

But we’ve got a long, long way to go before, you know, we take over the world completely. You can help spread the word of Horse Nation by inserting a lot of sentences that start with “Man, I was reading this awesome thing on Horse Nation today…” into casual conversation with people at your barn, and by sharing links to Horse Nation on Facebook and Twitter. Send out an Facebook invite to “like” Horse Nation to your local Pony Club chapter or Hunter Jumper Association or Dressage Society or just to everyone you know.

At the moment, Horse Nation has 935 friends on Facebook (side-note: kind of sad that a month-old website is already WAY more popular than I will EVER be), but I have this crazy idea that by the end of the day, we should aim to have 1,000 friends. That’s right, today we’re having a membership drive, kind of like NPR but we don’t even want your money, we just want you to “like” us. Can you help? I don’t know what our prize will be if we reach our goal, but trust me, there will be one, and IT WILL BE AWESOME.
